Neighborhood In Downtown San Diego | Miss A?

Neighborhood, a gastropub in downtown San Diego, is a trendy place to drink and eat with great company after a long day of work.

Last Friday night, the journey to Neighborhood started off with my boyfriend?s obsession to find green tea flavored beer. Stone Brewery, located in San Diego, CA, brewed a beer (Stone Japanese Green Tea IPA) to help raise money for the tragedy in Japan. After calling many bars around San Diego, he found that Neighborhood was one of the few establishments that had the beer on tap.

I was apprehensive when we first arrived at Neighborhood. After all, we had come in search for beer, and I?m just not that big a fan of any beer. However, within a few minutes, the great atmosphere, food and drinks won me over.

The vibe can be described as modern, fun and urban. I really enjoyed the dim lighting accentuated with candles. Yet, the loud chatter and laughs around the room really signified how laid-back this place really was. To add a little bit of mystery, a secret door by the restroom led to another bar, Noble Experiment, for those who could find it.

Aside from the ambiance, the food and drinks stole the show. We ordered the Stone Japanese Green Tea IPA of course, which turned out to be great with its unique twist of tea flavor. Plus we felt good about helping out a great cause! Even the water was something special with a slight flavoring of cucumbers. My personal applause goes to the food we ordered. Feeling hungry, we decided to order three entrees: the local animal, the grilled cheese and the 777 burger. All three dishes were delicious and we finished everything. All I can say is that the food is definitely not your regular old bar food!

Neighborhood is open everyday from noon to midnight. Be sure to stop by!
