As Samsung Galaxy S3 rumours hot up the Korean tech giant has denied reports its next-generation handset will sport a 3D display.
Counteracting a number of previous reports to the contrary, Samsung has quelled suggestions the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 will play host to a 3D display stating it has no plans to launch an extra-dimensional handset.
With the heavily rumoured Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone powerhouse tipped to land boasting a 3D capable display, Korean handset manufacturer Samsung has hit back at such claims revealing that, unlike a number of its rivals, it has no current plans to launch a 3D phone.
Despite HTC and LG having already released 3D capable handsets and with a number of Apple patents suggesting the Cupertino company is working on extra-dimension devices, Samsung has openly denied reports it will be adding its 3D display technology to future portable products.
?Although Samsung Electronics is constantly exploring new technologies for our mobile devices, we have no immediate plan to include displays featuring 3D technology in our upcoming smartphones,? the company said.
Far from the first time the third-generation Galaxy S handset has been rumoured and had its claimed specs splashed across the web, previous reports have suggested the iPhone 4S rival will land with a 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor and Google?s latest mobile operating system, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Further marking the Samsung Galaxy S3 out as the leader of the smartphone market, the latest reports have suggested the handset will boast a 4.8-inch display with a stunning Full HD 1080p resolution and a film friendly 16:9 aspect ratio.
Set to touch down in the first half of the year, a number of rumours suggesting the Samsung Galaxy S3 release date had been lined up for April were quickly quashed by the Korean based tech behemoth despite claims the handset entered production last month.
?SGS3 finalized and go to production,? industry analyst and tech leak specialist Eldar Murtzain said via Twitter. ?Preorders from operators/retailers are really highest for all Galaxy line history (finally ? ceramic).?
